Quick Weight Loss - Is it Possible?

I am asked all the time how can I quickly lose weight?
Well let's face it yes I suppose one could lose weight quickly. But is this the safest route? No, of course not! Besides the host of medical ramifications, the effects of short term weight loss usually result in a person gaining all if not more of the original weight back. Remember the fat on your belly, thighs or elsewhere did not overtake your body overnight. That being said it should not come off overnight. (not even with LIPO)
Does this leave you confused? Well let's hope not because if one seriously thinks about it then they will realize that there are no secrets to healthy weight loss. Deep down we all realize that there are two key factors to becoming healthy.
We need to eat correctly and we need to move our bodies (usually in the form of a workout).
But alas we have found that over 66% of America is not prepared, willing or able to do these two steps. The fact is that all humans have "roadblocks and excuses" that haunt our lives. But the other fact is that we all have the same 24 hours in each day. It is a matter of priority. Decide now, "what is important to you"? We believe that your health needs to become your #1 priority. When people ask me what can I do to lose weight I happily start to tell them. But it rarely fails that I hear these words. "I have no time, no money and did I mention no time?".
So here is one of my elevator (30 second) speeches that I give these hurried people.
- Decide to make a change for the better and Commit to a program!
- Write down your expected health goals and post in a visible place.
- Decide on a solid nutrition and fitness plan that fits your lifestyle and goals.
- Find an accountability partner and share your goals with them.
- When you go to the grocery store only shop on the outside perimeter of the store. On the outside perimeter you will find things such as fruits, vegetables, eggs, dairy products, soy products, meats (beef, chicken, fish) and etc. These are the things your body needs. There is nothing on the inner isles that your body needs. NOTHING!
- Avoid the top "Bad" foods
- Pork, high fat luncheon meats, ham, pepperoni, hot dogs , bacon and sausage meat
- Shell Fish: oysters, scallops, clams, crab, and lobster. They are scavengers and feed off the bottom of the ocean. Also contain high levels of Mercury
- Aspartame: nutrasweet, equal etc
- Hydrogenated, partially hydrogenated oils or lard
- Junk Food: snack cakes, candy, cola, fast food, pizza etc.
- Caffeine: 1 tidbit - according to the British Medical Journal, just 5 cups per day will increase a man's risk of heart disease by 50%
- Dairy products: 60% of the allergies affecting people in the country are contributed to the consumption of dairy products.
- Chlorine in Water. Either use a filter or become a filter!
- Alcohol: Just 1 oz of alcohol reduces the body’s ability to burn fat by 1/3.
- And finally, not only start the above steps but STICK TO IT!
And if you do, the next few weeks will be the start of a brand new you! And yes I can say all of this in about a 30 second long winded speech!
