Consume a High Fiber Diet

I often see commercials telling people to eat a high fiber diet - which is a good thing because fiber is a very important aspect of your wellness journey. But sadly when you see these commercials the fiber is usually coming from a man made source or fiber has been added to some junk food like cereals, crackers and other fake fruit treats. Often these sources of fiber do not contain many needed nutrients that good old fashioned earth made fiber does. So what are we to do?
In most of modern society people do not eat fiber. Instead they eat meats, pasta, refined breads, sweet treats and other man made or processed foods. So where is the fiber? It is in the vegetables, fruits and unprocessed whole grains that most of us avoid. So if you made any simple change to your diet I would recommend this:
Make your diet at least 70% or more of vegetable and fruits and you now have a high fiber diet
- Lowers cholesterol levels
- Decreases risk of colon cancer as much as 60% ◦Regulates the colon
- Gives “truth to the wise saying “an apple a day keeps the doctor away”
- Fiber fills you so you can know when to stop eating
- Slows down insulin spikes (keeps sugar from causing insulin spikes)
- Use a high speed blender like a Vita-Mix to make your fiber more bio-available!
