Iatrogenic Errors - Death By Doctor - Educate Yourself!
By Coach Scott Black on Dec 2, 2010 | In Announcements, Tip Of The day | Leave a comment »
The word "iatrogenic" comes from the Greek roots "iatros" meaning "the healer or physician" + "gennan" meaning "as a product of" = due to the doctor
Some iatrogenic errors are easily identified, such as a complication following a surgical procedure. Some are less obvious and require significant investigation to identify, such as complex drug interactions.
Direct causes of iatrogenesis include, medical error, negligence, social control and the adverse effects or interactions of prescription drugs. In the United States, an estimated 98,000 to 325,000 deaths per year may be attributed to iatrogenesis. This makes the medical establishment (to include the pharmaceutical industry) and doctors to be the Third Leading Cause of Death in the United States. These numbers are directly related to death and do not include the many negative effects such as disability, injuries and discomfort that are also associated to Iatrogenesis.
The statistics vary widely for many reasons but the evidence is clear. We do not hear about these errors in the media outlets or in many public forums for many reasons most of which is primarily directed towards declining business profits.
Think about it. If a car manufacture created a car that killed 98,000 people every year then you could be sure that the car would be recalled. Likewise, if a supplement killed the same amount then the supplement company would be shut down and possibly the CEO and scientist would be arrested. In-fact, the total ten year death count for both the Iraq war and the Afghanistan war is slightly over 6990, the total death count for the Vietnam war is a little over 58,236. This means your medical professionals kill more Americans than any terrorist and any war.
Those two wars caused many protest, problems and unrest in America yet NOTHING is protested when your loved ones are killed by your local and national doctors.
This might be tolerable if it resulted in better health, but does it? Out of 13 countries in a recent comparison, the United States ranks an average of 12th (second from the bottom) for 16 available health indicators. More specifically, the ranking of the U.S. on several indicators was:
· 13th (last) for low-birth-weight percentages
· 13th for neonatal mortality and infant mortality overall14
· 11th for post-neonatal mortality
· 13th for years of potential life lost (excluding external causes)
· 11th for life expectancy, at 1 year for females, 12th for males
· 10th for life expectancy, at 15 years for females, 12th for males
· 10th for life expectancy, at 40 years for females, 9th for males
· 7th for life expectancy, at 65 years for females, 7th for males
· 3rd for life expectancy, at 80 years for females, 3rd for males
· 10th for age-adjusted mortality
· The poor performance of the U.S. was recently confirmed by a World Health Organization study which used different data and ranked the United States as 15th among 25 industrialized countries.
The point?
AVOID THE MEDICAL ESTABLISHMENT!
Don't get me wrong. There is a need for doctors. They are needed for emergencies and in rare cases that your body can not heal itself from a disease.
Other than that, your body can and will heal itself of most disease as long as you give it the nutrients, proper breathing, meditation (to reverse stress and connect with the electrical universal connection), rest, workouts (to release stress and many growth and repair hormones), sunlight and many other exciting and helpful items.
Don't let big business and media control you! Take control of your life and make a change for the better and who knows, perhaps you will live longer for it!
